The National Dental Practice-Based Research Network recently hosted a ‘Lunch and Learn’ event for the UF College of Dentistry’s Summer Research Program, or SRP, students on July 18. The gathering provided an overview of the Network and dental practice-based research.
Future dental research leaders gained insight about the practical applications and implications of scholarly research in real-world dental settings and fostered meaningful discussions. These ‘Lunch and Learn’ engagements aspire to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and practical implementation, nurturing a new generation of upcoming dental students/practitioners who share a passionate commitment to advancing oral health through research.
This National Dental PBRN collaborative effort not only underlines the critical role of practice-based research in the advancement of dental science, but also highlights the continuous efforts to integrate empirical research findings into everyday clinical practices.
We extend our best wishes to the college’s SRP students as they begin an exciting new chapter as first-year dental students this fall. Equipped with valuable knowledge and experience from their 10-week summer research program, they are poised for success in their academic pursuits.
